Problem Solved: The Office-Office Space Edition

Let's go with four from each. I'm throwing Gary Cole out since he was in The Pineapple Express Edition but he's really the whole reason for this hybrid. So, even though some might not know who you are, I look at you, Gary Cole, and see a cross of Bill Lumbergh, Mike Brady, Ted Jones and VP Russell. Man, GC has been in a ton of movies and TV. I think he has face recognition and not the name recognition that should go with it. Sadly, I can think of several names to throw out that would elicit immediate response that don't deserve to even be "known" of. I kind of felt that this would happen when I posted TPEE with him in it. Sorry for the rant.

1. Steve Carrell

2. Rainn Wilson

3. John Krasinski

4. Jenna Fletcher

5. Ron Livingston

6. Jennifer Aniston

7. Stephen Root

8. John C. McGinley

The Next Four - Pineapple Express Edition

Sorry for the slow posting. Hopefully things will change.

1. Seth Rogen

2. James Franco

3. Danny McBride

4. Gary Cole

*I was thinking of doing The Office Edition next, but Gary Cole is really persuading me to go Office Space Edition.

Can We Agree On These? Part II

Thanks to Bodie and *Miss_P*, I have some more nominees for Can We Agree On These being A list.

Clint Eastwood - 4 oscar wins. It's Clint Eastwood. Perhaps it's a given, lol.
Robert Downey Jr. - 3 oscar noms, franchise (Iron Man) can now bring the big $$
Sean Penn - 2 oscar wins, 3 noms, can open a movie ($$)
Russell Crowe - 1 oscar win, 2 noms, can open a movie ($$) (even when he's "plumper" than usual, lol)
Johnny Depp - 3 oscar noms, franchise (Pirates)
Charlize Theron - 1 oscar win, 1 nom, can open a movie (has a bunch in production too)
Nicole Kidman - 1 oscar win, 1 nom, can open a movie (also has a bunch in production) . I'm not really a fan but i think she can open a movie on her own consistently.
Glenn Close - 5 oscar noms, i think she's just so highly respected as an actress that no one would label her anything less.
Anthony Hopkins - 1 Oscar win, 3 noms
Hugh Jackman-franchise
Jodie Foster-2 Oscar wins and she's Jodie Foster

Another Quick Programming Note

I'm looking for a little input on this one. Here is my thought on creating A list, B list, C list, etc pages. I thought I would dedicate one post to each list, then have a quick link on the sidebar, that way we could keep the lists at the top of the page so that it doesn't get buried. Yay or nay? Please vote in the comments.

Much love and thanks for everyone that's checked out and contributed to the site. A special thank you to Enty for the support!

Can We Agree On These?

*First, I'd like to apologize for no posts, however, I broke a few toes and have been a little over medicated. So let's make up for it today. Also, I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend and no tickets!*

Whether we like all of them or not, I think that we can all agree that the following people are A list and get them out of the way:

Will Smith - Without a doubt, the king of the box office. I place WS and TC as 1&2 but they are really neck and neck.
Tom Cruise - Franchise, no matter how crazy people might think he is, he can still open a movie; he is Les Grossman dammit! I’m not exactly TC’s biggest fan, but I’m no idiot either. Money talks and TC can bring in some money.
Tom Hanks - Is there anything he can’t do?
Reese Witherspoon - franchise
Angelina Jolie - franchise
Ben Stiller - franchise, can open a movie
Brad Pitt - the Ocean’s franchise? (I know he’s got a few noms under his belt and some okay movies but is he really A list or is he A list by association? Actually I’m giving him A list status because he is Tyler Durden, so there!)
George Clooney - franchise
Matt Damon - franchise (actually two franchises if you count him, Pitt & Clooney as the stars of the Ocean’s flicks)
Julia Roberts - She’s been A list for so long I don’t know what she’d have to do to fall off
Meryl Streep - Is there any ‘Doubt’ about this one? (Sorry I had to include that unfunny pun.)
Jack Nicholson - See Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts.
Keanu Reeves - franchise, plus Enty has already stated he’s A list in two BIs

Are there any other stars that we can agree are A list, no ifs, ands or buts about it? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

I’d really like to include Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino because anyone who knows me knows that I love, love, love The Godfather Trilogy, yes even TGIII! But they have made some shitty choices here lately: Rocky & Bullwinkle, 88 Minutes and Righteous Kill to name a few. Can I still give them A list for a franchise if they are now just phoning it in for the paycheck? Also, I like Kate Winslet and was very happy to see her finally win her statue and she was in the biggest movie of all time and I really want to include her on the A list. Which leads me to Leonardo DiCaprio. He’s been in Titantic, The Departed, Blood Diamonds, The Aviator, Catch Me If You Can and of course, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?, not to mention countless other flicks. He’s also had a few misses. He’s been nominated for 3 statues and currently has 21 deals in development. I want to place him on the A list but I need some backing up here.

Programming Note

I will be posting at least eight names tomorrow (Sunday) for rank consideration/bashing. However, on Monday, I may not be able to post as early as I would like as I'm trying to get a spreadsheet together from some of Enty's previous BI reveals.

Also, I hope everyone has a great weekend and if you're off Monday, enjoy!

The Next Four

Use the comments to give these four celebrities their list ranking. Remember, if they are TV & Movie, they will need two list rankings.
(Click on the name to go to their IMDb page.)
1. Ben Affleck

2. Adam Sandler

3. Peter O'Toole

4. Jeff Goldblum

*As a side note, I don't know why I didn't list Ben as our very first person to rank, since he is our CDAN mascot!

The First Four

Use the comments to give these four celebrities their list ranking. Remember, if they are TV & Movie, they will need two list rankings.

(Click on the name to go to their IMDb page.)

1. Christina Applegate

2. Dakota Fanning

3. Kevin James

4. Demi Moore

*Edit: I know that I said that I was only going to post four people a day, but I think I may up it either eight people a post or do two to three posts of four each day. Let me know what you think!

The Rules

The rules are simple. We will have an A List, B List, C List, D List and E-Zzzz List.

1. Money over Awards (I'm going with Enty's rule on this one.) Example: Will Smith=Has Been Nominated For An Oscar Twice But Has Never Won=The Most Bankable Star According To Forbes=A List.
2. Voting takes place in the comments. Please give one or two reasons for why you think someone belongs on a certain list.
3. If someone is in Movies and on TV, then they will need two votes.

For example, let's take Helen Hunt. During her heyday, she was definitely A+ List (TV). However, let's take a look at some of her movies from 1996-2000. In 1996, Helen was listed as the star for "Twister", which grossed $494,000,000 worldwide. In 1997, she received second billing for "As Good As It Gets" which grossed $280,000,000 worldwide. I know she won an Oscar for "As Good As It Gets", but remember I'm deferring to our favourite Entertainment Lawyer's rule: Money over Awards. (An Academy Award win is good for a temporary bump, but one win doesn't permanently put someone on the A List.) In 2000, she was in a couple of movies including "What Women Want" ($373,000,000 WW), and "Castaway"($430,000,000). So, using money over awards, I would say she was A- List from 1997-2001 which was when she went on a four year hiatus from making any films or doing any TV. Now days, she would be closer to a B- or even C List Movies.

So, if anyone can think of any other rules, please post in the Comment section.

Here's a link to CrazyDaysAndNights.net:

It is possible for performers to fluctuate quickly between the B, C & D categories depending on their circumstances and current behavior. A list stars tend to remain there.
